Welcome to the club

Old Amplefordian Rugby Football Club was founded in 1985 and now boasts a regular playing side welcoming both OAs and non-OAs alike.

The club began as a social side but following increased interest joined the Surrey Leagues in 2000. From 2000-2005 the OARFC enjoyed a meteoric rise, being promoted through Surrey 3, Surrey 2 and Surrey 1 and enjoying two seasons in London 4, a remarkable achievement.

We play in Surrey 3 and 2009/2010 saw the beginnings of a new phase within the club, boasting a new sponsor, talented coaching team and, most importantly, an influx of young players, both from Ampleforth and elsewhere. We finished mid table and played a match at the school for the first time in several years.

Location

We train on a weekly basis in Battersea Park (directions) and share some excellent match day facilities near Weybridge – 10 minutes from the train station or a short drive from London.

For all of this, we need you! We are always looking out for players to help grow the club and take it forward. If you are in London or moving down, please come down to a match, training or a social event, and bring your friends.
